Alan Ford Memorial Trophy
Written by Chris Jesinger
Friday, 11 April 2008

Wednesday April 9th featured the 12th annual Alan Ford Memorial Trophy competition. Nine members submitted 18 prints illustrating landscapes and seascapes all appraised by members of Anne Ford's family who provided written commentaries on each photograph. Each family member nominated their personal first, second and third place choices and the ultimate winner was the one with the most first place votes.

This is a popular event which means a lot to both the society and Anne's family, many of whom came from a condsiderable distance to give their support. Particular thanks go to Anne's son Glen and grand-daughter Amy for reading out all the comments and not least to Anne herself for the dedication and hard work required to make the evening such a success.

In first place was a superb sunset by Raymond Staley entitled "A Perfect End To A Perfect Day. Second place went to "Low Tide" by Mick Painter and third to Kevin Woodcock for "Loweswater".

Thanks to Anne, her family and all who took part.
